Why Is the Correct Bra Size So Important?

Bra Size Consists of Two Measurements
Bra size consists of two pieces of information: a number (band size) and a letter (cup size). For example, 75B: here 75 is the band measurement, and B is the cup size.
1. Band Size (Number)
Hold the measuring tape parallel to the floor, just under your bust and around your back. Exhale and take the measurement. The resulting centimeter value gives you your band size (e.g., 73–77 cm → size 75).
2. Cup Size (Letter)
This time, wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of your bust. Subtract your band measurement from this measurement. The difference determines your cup size:
- ~12–13 cm difference → A cup
- ~14–15 cm difference → B cup
- ~16–17 cm difference → C cup
- ~18–19 cm difference → D cup
4 Signs of a Well-Fitting Bra
- The back band lies flat: It doesn't ride up, ideally it's parallel to the floor.
- The underwire doesn't dig in: In an underwired model, the wires encircle the breast but don't leave marks.
- The straps don't cut into the shoulders: If they leave marks or constantly fall down, the size or adjustment is incorrect.
- The cup is full: There's neither spillage nor gaping.
Bralette or Underwired Bra?
